Stroke is Brain Attack

Stroke is a "brain attack" that cuts off vital blood oxygen to the brain cells that control everything we do - from speaking, to walking, to breathing. Most strokes occur when arteries are blocked by blood clots or by the gradual build-up of plaque. Some strokes can be caused by arteries that rupture when weak spots on the blood vessel wall break. For someone who is having a stroke, emergency medical treatment could make all the difference - the difference between life and death, between recovery and lifelong impairment.

If you or a loved one is showing symptoms of stroke, then get treatment fast. Urgent treatment is critical. Every minute counts. Even a half an hour delay can increase your chances of disability or death.

So, if you believe that you're having a stroke, don't waste time. Go where you'll have the best chance for the fullest recovery ... Call 911. And get to Ellis Hospital
