Ellis Hospital Patient Safety Award Ellis Hospital is proud to have received national recognition as a Distinguished Hospital for Patient Safety 2008 by HealthGrades, a leading national health care ratings company. Ellis received this distinction because a majority of its patients do not experience adverse or preventable incidents, such as: falling out of bed; acquiring bedsores; or developing a blood clot or infection after surgery. Ellis is among more than 200 hospitals in the country to achieve top ranking, based on a HealthGrades study of patient safety incidents at more than 5,000 hospitals nationwide from 2004-2006.
