About Ellis Hospital’s Dental Health Center

Ellis Hospital’s Dental Health Center The Dental Health Center (DHC) at 600 McClellan Street, Schenectady is located on the basement level of the main hospital building. The DHC offers a full array of dental services for patients of all ages, from young children to older adults. Each patient is assigned a primary dental care provider who will oversee his or her care. While every effort is made to schedule patients with their assigned providers, there may be instances, especially when emergencies arise, that services are provided by another member of the center’s staff.

Appointments

Office hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Routine calls received after these hours will be handled during the next business day.

All patients are asked to arrive on time and to be prepared to make their co-payments at the time of check in. Twenty-four hours advance notice is requested to cancel an appointment. This allows another patient in need of care to be scheduled. Any patient who misses two appointments in a 12 month and who has not given at least 24 hours notice, may be charged a fee or discharged from the practice.

After-hours Emergencies

Patient who experience after-hours dental emergencies and are in need of urgent attention should report to the Emergency Department.

Insurance

Patients are required to bring their insurance cards with them to all appointments and should be prepared to make their co-payments at the time of service. For the convenience of patients, the DHC accepts cash, checks and credit cards. Please notify the front desk of any changes of address, phone number or insurance plan.

For Patients Without Insurance

Ellis Hospital has financial assistance programs available to help the uninsured and underinsured get the care they need, including reduced charges to eligible patients. This is not an insurance plan but is intended to offer temporary assistance. Click Financial Assistance for more information.
