Laboratory Services

Ellis Hospital offers a full range laboratory services, with outpatient Blood Draw Stations (Patient Service Centers) at five convenient locations:

Schenectady

Ellis Hospital Main Campus
Outpatient Blood Draw Lab, A-wing, 1st floor

Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon

Ellis Hospital Patient Service Center
1405 Fulton Ave (Corner of Rosa Road and Fulton Ave)
Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Ellis Hospital McClellan Campus
1st Floor Outpatient Blood Draw Lab
600 McClellan Street
Hours: Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon

Niskayuna

Bellevue Woman’s Care Center
2210 Troy Road
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. to 12 Noon
Sundays and Holidays by appointment only

Clifton Park

Ellis Hospital Patient Service Center

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Physician’s Order/Script

A physician's referral/order is required for all lab testing. Please bring this with you.

Appointments

No appointment is necessary during regular outpatient hours with the exception of 3-hour glucose tolerance testing and semen analysis. To make an appointment, call 518.243.4055.

Insurance/Billing

Most major insurances are accepted. Please check with your insurance company to make sure your outpatient lab services are covered.

Patient Instructions

Fasting Instructions: Nothing by mouth after 8:00 p.m. the evening prior to your appointment except small amounts of water. Medications should be taken as instructed by your physician.

Test Results

Most general lab tests are run daily with results available to the ordering physician within 24 hours.

Homedraws

Both the main Ellis campus (Nott Street) and the Ellis McClellan Campus offer homedraw services for their homebound patients. Call 518.43.1469 to schedule a homedraw through the Ellis campus or call 518.243.5309 to schedule a homedraw through the McClellan Campus.
